Covid-19 UPDATED

Coronavirus (Covid-19) Updates

Clean, Courteous, Classy

Though we will continue to practice safe practices in regards to Covid-19, guests are no longer required but rather recommended to wear masks.

You've heard it before – Clean, Courteous, Classy. We've always put a strong emphasis on keeping our theaters clean. It's a big part of what makes up the GRAND STYLE you know and expect from us.

And now more than ever, we are dedicated to providing a clean and safe environment for all of our guests. Check out some of the UPDATED procedures and guidelines for employees and guests we've added to create a movie-going experience that Monica Geller, Danny Tanner, and even Howie Mandel would be excited about!

New Safety Procedures

Masks No longer required but recommended

Our employees will be required to wear masks at all times while working. But don't you worry – we're all smiles behind them because we're so happy to have you back! As a guest, we recommend wearing masks but no longer require such. (read more about guest guidelines below).

Who you gonna call?! GRAND AVENUE!! After each showtime, the theater will be thoroughly cleaned with an electrostatic disinfectant spray. Electrostatic spray uses a specialized solution that is combined with air and atomized by an electrode inside the sprayer. Subsequently, the spray contains positively charged particles that are able to aggressively adhere to surfaces and objects. Each seat, arm rest, headrest, cupholder – you name it – will be disinfected, but what really is new for us! If you thought we were clean before, this takes it to another level! We want all our guests to feel safe and comfortable during their movie, and a clean seat and environment is a top priority.

Frequent Hand Washing

All employees must wash their hands frequently while working. We encourage you to wash your hands frequently, too! Hand sanitizing stations have also been placed outside each theater and in various locations in the lobby to ensure easy access for our guests and staff.

2 Empty Seats between Parties

We've been assigning seats for a while, so you won't notice a difference in your ticket-buying process. But you'll notice when you make your way to your seat that we are leaving 2 empty seats between parties to adhere to local public health guidelines.

Six-Feet Social Distancing Required

Please maintain at least six feet between other parties while at Grand Avenue Theater. We have markings on the floor to indicate six-feet between parties in ticket and concession lines. We strongly encourage you to purcahse your tickets online and use your mobile device to scan your tickets if at all possible.

No Refill Containers

Unfortunately, we will be suspending our free refills on souvenir and XL cups and containers until further notice. As always, if you bring in any external food, drinks, or containers, we will have to ask you to leave it in your vehicle or throw it away.

Previous Updates

June 4, 2020 - 10:00am

As of this morning, we will be putting a pause on all operations for the immediate future. We have exhausted all of our financial and emergency resources to make it through this time, and we need to return to a preservation state. This is a result of new movies not being on the calendar for quite some time. We WILL be back, but as of now there is no hard, set date for return.

We thank you so much for your continued support during our drive in and soft reopening phase, and we can't wait to welcome you back with wide open arms, safely distanced of course!

We have had many people asking us how they can help us now? Since we know we will be back, the best way to support us and make other smile during this time is keep buying and gifting those gift cards. Gift cards can be purchased online and we will mail them to you. Those can be found at, or by clicking the "shop" link in the menu.

We love you, we wish you and your families safety during these times, and we will see you on the other side!

May 5, 2020 - 3:00pm

Who's ready??? The time has come that we are going to attempt some "soft opening" weekends. We will begin this weekend with Trolls World Tour inside and at our drive in theater!

We will be following state standards for capacity, skipping rows, skipping seats, etc. We will also be upping the amount of cleaning and disinfecting procedures to keep you and us safe! We will also be showing this on only a couple screens to begin with to ensure we don't over crowd.

Tickets will be available online and will be general admission. Tickets can be purchased at the theater before showtime if there are tickets left. We do encourage online ticketing as a ticket ensures you can be seated and parked for the showtime. The theater will open at 5:30pm each day for the inside showtime, and the parking lot will open at 6:30pm for the Drive In parking. The schedule for this weekend is as follows:

Trolls World Tour
Friday 5/8 AND Saturday 5/9
6:00p: Indoor Theater - $5 Tickets
8:30pm: Drive In Theater - $5 Per Car Load

We will have concessions available as well as a limited kitchen menu available inside and outside! We appreciate your patience and we hope you'll work with us moving forward as we navigate these uncharted waters.

We are excited to welcome you in (or out!), and also wish you and your families the best during these times.

April 29, 2020 - 8:30pm

Dear Loyal Patrons,

As many of you have heard, movie theaters in Texas are allowed to reopen at 25% capacity beginning May 1st. This is great news!!! Unfortunately, there are some other factors that affect this possibility. With no release schedule at this point, and no current guidance from studios, Grand Avenue Theater will not be opening this weekend.

While we are eager to open our doors, we want to ensure we can provide you the best content in the safest and cleanest manner possible. Your safety, health, and experience are of the utmost importance to us and we want to make sure we can accomplish all this in our standard “Clean, Courteous and Classy” way.

We will be communicating during this period, so be on the lookout as we prepare to open in May. We will continue to offer you some fun and exciting times with our drive-ins as planned for the immediate future. With local grocery supply stabilizing, we will be phasing out of our “Grocery Essentials” in the coming days. Continue to look for our bulk popcorn pickup to continue, even after we reopen!

We definitely miss you and can’t wait to open our doors for the general public, but for now that will have to wait just a little bit longer. We appreciate your heartfelt support and dedication during these times, and it is reassuring to know our community is behind us as much as we are behind you!

With many thanks,
The Grand Avenue Team

March 18, 2020 - 5:30pm

Due to Bell County's new restrictions on gathering limits and Dine-In food service, we will be closing effective Wednesday March 18, 2020

March 18, 2020 11:00am - Due to Covid-19 (coronavirus) and its implications on public safety and our industry’s well-being, we regret to inform you that Grand Avenue Theater will be closing its doors until further notice beginning Monday March 23, 2020. While we are sad to do this, we know that if we all pull together in these tough times, we will come out on the other side even stronger.

What you can do to help:

  • Say a prayer. For your neighbor, for your family, for those who are living the chaos in our hospitals, grocery stores, logistics businesses, and all those forced out of work and income.
  • Stay home as much as possible. Distance yourself whenever possible. Check on your elderly or immune compromised neighbors and help them get the essentials they need.
  • Support small/local/independent business. We all need you now more than ever. Get takeout from the local restaurant, buy a gift card from your favorite small business. It takes a community to be something great, and we need you. We will continue to sell gift cards online so you can be stocked up once we reopen and all the delayed blockbusters finally get released.

We will continue to communicate via our website on our “Covid-19” page, via our email newsletter and social media channels any updates and plans for reopening. We plan on reopening in a GRAND way and want you to be apart of the experience when we come back.

Even though we are planning to close on Monday 3/23, we will continue to monitor guidance by the CDC, WHO, and Bell County Public Health and should their recommendations or mandates change, we will act accordingly.

It is our daily prayer for all of you to stay healthy and safe, and as Arnold once said, “I’ll be back!”

Grand Avenue Ownership and Management

March 13, 2020

Given the concerns regarding the Coronavirus (COVID-19), we want to personally reach out and share the extra precautions the Grand Avenue team is taking to keep patrons, employees and community safe to allow the continued enjoyment of movies here at Grand Avenue.

We are monitoring recommendations of governmental health agencies, such as the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) and Bell County Public Health. In addition to the standard of clean we already set for ourselves by being “Clean, Courteous and Classy,” we have added some additional measures:

  • Sanitizing cupholders and armrests nightly at the end of business, and in between showtimes as needed.
  • Sanitizing hard touch surfaces, menus, door handles, restroom fixtures and handrails once per hour
  • Installed some additional sanitizing pumps for customers in the lobby/public areas
  • Mandating that employees was their hands as often as every 5 minutes between customers and duties.
  • Refillable items will now receive a new container with each refill. Used containers will not be refilled with popcorn or soda, and a new container given with new product.
  • Encouraging staff to skip 2-3 seats between guests/groups/families when possible

We also ask that our patrons and community members help us and everyone else out by staying home when ill, covering your coughs, and distancing yourself from other people as much as possible.

In light of the recent movie release cancellations of James Bond, Fast & Furious 9, A Quiet Place 2, Mulan and others, we will do our best to keep fresh, exciting, or classic content as long as public health agencies allow us to remain open.

There is no denying that COVID-19 has had and will continue to have an impact on our communities. Grand Avenue will continue to monitor governmental health agencies and will take the proper precautions as this situation evolves.

Thank you for your loyalty,

The Grand Avenue Theater Team
