Coronavirus (Covid-19) Updates

March 18, 2020 5:30pm - UPDATE - Due to Bell County's new restictions on gathering limits and Dine-In food service, we will be closing effective Wednesday March 18, 2020

March 18, 2020 11:00am - Due to Covid-19 (coronavirus) and its implications on public safety and our industry’s well-being, we regret to inform you that Grand Avenue Theater will be closing its doors until further notice beginning Monday March 23, 2020. While we are sad to do this, we know that if we all pull together in these tough times, we will come out on the other side even stronger.

What you can do to help:

  • Say a prayer. For your neighbor, for your family, for those who are living the chaos in our hospitals, grocery stores, logistics businesses, and all those forced out of work and income.
  • Stay home as much as possible. Distance yourself whenever possible. Check on your elderly or immune compromised neighbors and help them get the essentials they need.
  • Support small/local/independent business. We all need you now more than ever. Get takeout from the local restaurant, buy a gift card from your favorite small business. It takes a community to be something great, and we need you. We will continue to sell gift cards online so you can be stocked up once we reopen and all the delayed blockbusters finally get released.

We will continue to communicate via our website on our “Covid-19” page, via our email newsletter and social media channels any updates and plans for reopening. We plan on reopening in a GRAND way and want you to be apart of the experience when we come back.

Even though we are planning to close on Monday 3/23, we will continue to monitor guidance by the CDC, WHO, and Bell County Public Health and should their recommendations or mandates change, we will act accordingly.

It is our daily prayer for all of you to stay healthy and safe, and as Arnold once said, “I’ll be back!”

Grand Avenue Ownership and Management

March 13, 2020 - Given the concerns regarding the Coronavirus (COVID-19), we want to personally reach out and share the extra precautions the Grand Avenue team is taking to keep patrons, employees and community safe to allow the continued enjoyment of movies here at Grand Avenue.

We are monitoring recommendations of governmental health agencies, such as the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) and Bell County Public Health. In addition to the standard of clean we already set for ourselves by being “Clean, Courteous and Classy,” we have added some additional measures:

  • Sanitizing cupholders and armrests nightly at the end of business, and in between showtimes as needed.
  • Sanitizing hard touch surfaces, menus, door handles, restroom fixtures and handrails once per hour
  • Installed some additional sanitizing pumps for customers in the lobby/public areas
  • Mandating that employees was their hands as often as every 5 minutes between customers and duties.
  • Refillable items will now receive a new container with each refill. Used containers will not be refilled with popcorn or soda, and a new container given with new product.
  • Encouraging staff to skip 2-3 seats between guests/groups/families when possible

We also ask that our patrons and community members help us and everyone else out by staying home when ill, covering your coughs, and distancing yourself from other people as much as possible.

In light of the recent movie release cancellations of James Bond, Fast & Furious 9, A Quiet Place 2, Mulan and others, we will do our best to keep fresh, exciting, or classic content as long as public health agencies allow us to remain open.

There is no denying that COVID-19 has had and will continue to have an impact on our communities. Grand Avenue will continue to monitor governmental health agencies and will take the proper precautions as this situation evolves.

Thank you for your loyalty,

The Grand Avenue Theater Team
